He was predeceased by: his parents, LeRoy Abitz and Ethel Schutze Abitz Sr.; his wife Betty C. Buchta of Mary's Catholic Church; his grandson Francis; and his siblings, David, Ethel and Joyce.
He is survived by: his children, Michelle Abitz of Fond du Lac and Kent Abitz (Theresa) of Howards Grove; his granddaughters, Elizabeth A. Schultz and Katelyn B. Schultz (Brittany); his great grandchildren, Aden, Klaus and Frankie; and his siblings, LeRoy Abitz Jr. (Shirley) of Fond du Lac, Alvin Abitz (Lynn) of Fond du Lac and Christine Humleker of Eldorado. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
