He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph "Scottie" Hinkley and Norma "Dolly" Bird; his brother Dennis Hinkley; his parents-in-law, Lucille and Joseph Grailer; his son Kurt Hinkley Sr.; his daughter-in-law Julie Hinkley; and his grandson Kurt Hinkley Jr. Per.

He is survived by: his wife Carol Hinkley; his children, Angel Freund (Mike), Tammy Jacobson (Gerald), Kelly Schwartz (Mark) and Shelley Mason (Seth); and his brother Terry Hinkley (Candy). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.
