He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Conway "Barney" Schingen and Gayle Schingen (Miller); his wife Nancy Streblow; his sons, Robert and Jason Schingen; his grandchildren, Gavin and Olivia; his siblings, Joy Miller, Jill Hebard (Gary) and Jack Schingen (Debbie); his sister-in-law Diane Thurk; his in-laws, Robert and Peggy Streblow; and his brother-in-law Ralph Thurk. He was also cherished by one niece and many nephews.
