He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Steffes and Veronica Steffes (Wettstein); his siblings, Edward "Eddie" Steffes, Sr. (Susan), Judy Beattie, Jerome Steffes, Lois Kluza and Edith Trepanier (Roland); and his brother-in-law Gerald VanDeraa.
He is survived by: his children, Sherry Rasmussen of Fond du Lac, James Steffes (Rebecca) of Fond du Lac and Louis Steffes, Jr. (Jean) of Fond du Lac; his siblings, Jeanne VanDeraa, Joseph Steffes (Tina), Eloise Wowerat (Erhardt) and Ann Burg; and his siblings-in-law, Ken Kluza and Elizabeth Steffes. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
