With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary J. McCarthy (Fond du Lac, Wisconsin), born in Oneill, Nebraska, who passed away on December 1, 2023 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Remter and Mildred Remter (Langan); her uncles, Dave and John Langan; her sister Carol; and her friend Jean Reiner.
She is survived by: her husband Patrick McCarthy of Fond du Lac; her daughters, Michele Esses (Morris) of Streamwood, Renee Dederich (Terry) of Heyworth and Stephanie Wondercheck (Jacob) of Malone; her grandchildren, Joseph Esses (Mackenzie Morgan), Matthew Esses, Lillian Dederich, Bryce Wondercheck and Gabriel Wondercheck; and her goddaughter Jolene Langan. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be directed to the Holy Family Warming Shelter in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin or the Alzheimer's Foundation.
