He is survived by: his children, Tom Michels (Katie), Mary Traxinger (Richard), Steven Michels (Patty) and SuAnne Ambler (Amy); his grandchildren, Seth, Sam, Joey, Janae, Nick, Tessa and Abby; his siblings, Julie Kaiser, Rosie Wittchow, Cele Ernest, Dorothy Commo, Leanard Michels (Judy), Rodger Michels (Pat) and Carol Renfrow (Marian); and his siblings-in-law, Barb Michels, Rita Weber and Ralph Birschbach. He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
