He was predeceased by: his parents, John Blau and Mabel Blau (Nickerson); his wife Gertrude; his siblings, Daryl Blau and Bonnie Steffen; and his granddaughter Christina Marie Cox.
He is survived by: his children, Anjulette Ertel (Steven), Michael, Jeffrey and Jennifer Gonzalez (Adrian); and his grandchildren, Brian Blau (Rachelle), Sandra Priesgen (Anthony), Sara Ertel (Antonio Rivera), Kimberly Cody (Anthony Brooks), Matthew Blau (Kate) and John Blau. He is also survived by fifteen great grandchildren.
