Donald E. Bates Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Donald E. Bates of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, who passed away on April 15, 2026 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He is survived by: his wife Marcia Bates; his children, Joseph Bates, Bethany Vos (Jim), Brenda Frays (Bob), Dann Bates (Becky), Chris Bates (Heather) and Amy Clayton (Lyle); and his grandchildren, Emily, Leslie, Ryan, Andrew, Elissa, Cameron, Kyle, Catherine, James and Leighton. He is also survived by many beautiful great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Samaritan's Purse, or to the Dr. Donald E. Bates Scholarship Fund, established in his honor to support Fort Atkinson High School students who plan to pursue a medical career.
