He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard and Winifred. He is survived by: his wife Sally Jahnke (Bartelt) of John's Lutheran Church; and his children, Dawn Ebert, Tommy Jahnke, Pam Velarde, Robert Haessly Jr. (Barbara) and Maggie Drewa (Dan). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
