Edward Romans Obituary
Was born to eternal life on October 6, 2025 entering the celestial beauty he was so enamored with throughout his 79 years. Edd was born on July 8, 1946 in Spahn Germany. Edd then spent his first 5 years in Dorset, England, boarded the Queen Mary for New York before finally settling in Milwaukee. He married his high school sweetheart, Francine and raised two sons, Christopher and Charles, that brought him much pride and joy.
Edd could have been affectionately called a "Science Geek" by those who knew him well. Edd received his Masters Degree in Administration and began his career as an instructor on a Mobile Science Lab for Milwaukee Public Schools, bringing exciting science education to students throughout the district. His career also took him to providing planetarium programs and lectures at the UWM Planetarium. His most exciting career move was 3 years as an Aerospace Specialist for NASA with his office at Kennedy Space Center. His specialty was educating the public and students in Florida, Georgia, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands about the space shuttle. Upon returning from his time with NASA, he took his experience with NASA into developing the "College for Kids " program at UWM, a position he held every summer for 20 years and later developed "Space Camp". He completed his career in Milwaukee Public Schools as a science instructor but went on to developing nationally published science games and representing National Geographic in Wisconsin.
Along with his passion for science he loved spending time at his backyard pond which he personally built and cultivated along with his many gardens.
When he wasn't star gazing or landscaping his pond and gardens, you could find Edd exercising daily. He loved to talk about the fact that he completed 8 marathons, 2 triathlons: often seen training in sub-zero or tropical weather. In his later years he enjoyed biking and taking long walks.
Edd had an insatiable desire to know what laid beyond the beauty of this earth. He witnessed the power of God in every handful of soil, every plant and every star he gazed upon. He prayed the rosary daily thanking God for his family and all the blessings he has been granted in his life.
Creating memories with his family by taking annual vacations and celebrating holidays, birthdays, and grandchildren's sporting events brought him the most joy. Edd and Fran wintered in Florida and enjoyed the rest of the year in their Bayside home allowing them to be a part of their grandchildren's lives.
Edd is survived by his wife of 56 years, Francine, sons Christopher (Jody) Charles (Michelle), and his adored grandchildren Gabby, Gracie, Bella and Joey Romans. He is also survived by brother-in-law Ignatius Quarino (Donna), many nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Edd was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Katherine, in-laws Theresa and Charles Quarino and Salvatore and Marlene Quarino.
