He was predeceased by: his parents, George Smits and Martha Smits (Vanderheiden); his siblings, Bertha Kaczmierczak, Marie Albers, George Jr., Henry, Donald, Jerome, Robert and Richard; his parents-in-law, Phyllis Smits, Mary Lou Smits, Don Baeten, Tom Kaczmierczak, Sam Albers and Tom Allcox; his son-in-law Mark Hanewall; Cletus and Ruth Ann Weber.

He is survived by: his wife Sally Weber; his children, Rick Marcott (Karen), Pam Mathu (Paul), Jenny Hanewall-Marnocha (Randy), Becky Krause (Bob) and Ryan Dodd; his grandchildren, Cory Marcott (Morgan), Erin Marcott, Rachel Mathu, Joe Mathu (Lizzy Bildings), Drew Marnocha, Adam Hanewall, Kennedy Hanewall, Zachary Krause, Julia Krause and Elic Hays; his great grandchild Elizabeth Marcott; his siblings, Clayton Smits (Rose), Mary Jane Van Remortel (Don) and Dorothy Allcox; and his siblings-in-law, Ruth Smits, Barbara Smits, Joan Smits, Donna Chamberlain (Paul), Cleta Weber (Bob Wurzer), Robert Weber (Cindy), Tom Weber (Sherryl), Pat Weber (Debbie) and Mike Weber. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Norbert College would be appreciated.
