The family announces the passing of Wayne E. Oberlander of Franklin, Wisconsin on October 11, 2026. Wayne, born on April 5, 1949 in Chicago, Illinois, was part of many shared moments and relationships throughout life. Wayne will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor Wayne by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though Wayne is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Wayne’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Oberlander; his children, Faith Marie Smith (Jeff) and Joe Oberlander (Patti Haas); his grandchildren, Rodney Wayne Smith and Ruby Rose Maxine Smith; his sister Peggy Davis; and his brother-in-law Herb Sweet (Karen). He is also survived by many other family members and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Prasser-Kleczka Funeral Home (6080 S 27th St, Milwaukee, WI 53221). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Prasser-Kleczka South Suburban Chapel (6080 S 27th St, Milwaukee, WI 53221).
