He was predeceased by: his parents, Irene Rieckmann Sr. (Prellwitz) and John Rieckmann; his son Thomas Rieckmann; his brothers, Wilmer Rieckmann (Lois) and Arden Rieckmann (Elsie); and his siblings-in-law, Evelyn Rieckmann, Harold, Gordon, Harvey Bolssen and Betty Dexter.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Bolssen; his children, Russell Rieckmann, Debbie Zehner (Chuck), Michael "Harley" Rieckmann (Barbara), Steven Rieckmann, Tammy Tesch (Bradley) and Missy Havens (Skye); his grandchildren, Kimberly Sullivan (Craig), Candice Scoville (Justin), Kayla Zehner (Brandon), Cassie Zehner (Josh), Harlen Rieckmann, Talen, Dallas and Ava Havens; his stepgranddaughter Shealyn Klosterman-Havens; his great grandchild Charlotte Sullivan; his brother Vernon Rieckmann; and his brother-in-law Jim Bolssen (Linda). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
