He was predeceased by : his parents, Russell Grunwald and Barbara Grunwald (Griswold); his wife Debra Basler; and his grandsons, Daniel Grunwald and Joseph Feisthauser.

He is survived by : his children, April Reul (Richard), Jennifer Rickert (Shawn), Phillip Grunwald and Becky Grunwald; his niece Tiffany Gorges; his stepdaughters, Tiffani Mueller (Mike), Melissa Norton (Nate) and Amanda Herbst (Kyle); his grandchildren, Alex Rickert (Michaela), Savana Rickert, William Fiestsauser, Chad Grunwald and Mackenzi Grunwald; his stepgrandchildren, Derrick Mueller, Daniele Lutz, Jillian Reimer, Taylor Boardman, Kaden, Kaleb Herbst, Ethan and Amelia Norton; his great grandchildren, Layla Jo and Olivia Gilbertson; his siblings, Steve Grunwald (Pat), Cindy Grunwald and Lisa Freda (Gary); and his close friend Ann Bonikowski. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for St. Paul Lutheran Church, Dale and Union Thresherman's Club.
