He was predeceased by: his parents, Orvis Anunson and Severna Anunson (Moke); his sister Judith Haase; and his brother-in-law John Sauer. He is survived by: his wife Verdaine Westphal; his sons, Darryl Anunson (Melissa) and David Anunson (Vicki); his grandchildren, Gillian, Mara, Lexi and Bradley; his siblings, Orvis Anunson (Sue), Ted Anunson and Sandra Sauer; and his brother-in-law Leo Haase. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for St. John Lutheran Church.
