John Joseph Bruckner Sr. Obituary
Age 95 of Germantown, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 26, 2023, at Froedtert Hospital in Menomonee Falls. John was born in Rhinelander WI, on June 25, 1928, to the late Richard and Anna Bruckner. He is survived by Beverly, his beloved wife of 69 years, daughters Jacqueline (Tim) and Julie (Dane) and his favorite son John Jr (Karen), grandchildren DJ, Stacey, Glenn (Jessica), Christine (Scott), JJ (Anne), Michael (Amy), Abby (Juan) and Daniel. Great grandchildren Austin, Taylor, Isabella, Brody, Bowan, Briggs, Elise, Jack and Daniel. Further survived by his brothers Tom, and Dave (Jane).
John was a graduate of Rhinelander High School, lettering in football, basketball and track. He enlisted in the Army and achieved the rank of Master Seargent while serving in the Korean War. John returned to the states after the war, went on to attend Milwaukee School of Engineering and graduated with a two year degree in Electronics.
He opened and operated Thiensville TV until his retirement at which time he and Beverly moved to Phoenix, Arizona. He worked for a neighbor in the HVAC business in Arizona to keep himself busy and out of Beverly's hair.
John enjoyed bird and deer hunting and especially coho fishing on Lake Michigan out of Port Washington. He would take the kids down to the Milwaukee River in Thiensville after work, to go waterskiing. He was a volunteer for the Thiensville Police department and spent many hours at Calvary Lutheran Church performing repairs at the church and school as well as being an usher. His favorite band while spending time with his grandchildren was Da Yoopers.
Dad loved God and his family and he will be missed by all those that knew him.
Services will be held at Christ Alone Lutheran Church South Campus, 10001 N. Cedarburg Road, Mequon, WI 53092 on Wednesday October 4, 2023. Visitation will be from 10:00am – 11:00am. Service at 11:00 am with a luncheon to follow in the church fellowship Hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Christ Alone Lutheran Church, if desired.
