Richard Lowry Obituary
Richard went home peacefully to the Lord on September 24, 2026 at the age of 91 years. He was married to the late Janice, the love of his life, for 60 years. He was the loving dad of Dawn (Todd) Poppe, Kim (Tim) Graff and David (Denise) Lowry. He was the proud grandpa of Sara (Cody) Olson, Nicholas (Alyssa) Poppe, Adam, Lucas, and Stacy Graff, Sam and Jake Lowry and great grandpa of Carson and Reese Olson. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Martha Lowry, his in-laws, Leland and Lucille Erickson, his sister-in-law, Marianne Nelson and his grandson Jason Poppe. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Richard was a man of few words, but knew how to truly enjoy life and prioritize the things that mattered most: his family, simple pleasures, and the deep love he shared with his wife. He loved his children deeply and adored his grandchildren. He showed his children how to be strong and caring individuals.
One of Richard's greatest joys was his cabin in northern Wisconsin, a special sanctuary that brought immeasurable happiness to him and his wife, and their children. Together with their family, they spent countless summers there creating memories that will last a lifetime. Richard also lived out his dream of riding his Harley alongside his wife, taking in the open road together.
In his everyday life, Richard found comfort in life's simple blessings—watching and caring for the birds outside his living room window, going for peaceful walks, enjoying good food, and relaxing with classic old movies. Above all, Richard and his late wife loved to dance, finding rhythm and joy in each other's arms. While he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing that they are reunited and dancing together in heaven once again.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 2, 2026 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, W204 N11940 Goldendale Rd., Germantown, WI at 10:30 AM. Visitation will be at church from 9:30 AM until the time of the Mass. Private entombment at Resurrection Cemetery in Mequon. In lieu of flowers, because of the effect that Janice's dementia had on the family, Richard's desire was for memorials to the Alzheimer's Association.
