He was predeceased by : his parents, Elmer Showalter and Helen Showalter (Weaver); his former life partner Sandra Schrey; his sons, Timothy and Enos Showalter; and his sister Jane Weber.
He is survived by : his children, Joseph Showalter (Rosemary), Jonathan Showalter (Frieda), Daniel Showalter (Marion), James Showalter (Elfreda), Joyanna Martin (Walter), Ivy Steiner (Allan), Jennifer Showalter, Eunice Witmer (Harlan), Ethan Showalter (Caroline) and Rose Showalter; and his siblings, Glen Showalter (Mary), Carol Caudil (Billy), Joy Beachy (David) and Mary Showalter. He is also survived by 40 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren.
