He was predeceased by: his parents, Arvid Eino Kaarto and Leila Peterson (Peterson); and his brothers, Don and Bob Kaarto. He is survived by: his wife Gail Kaarto; his children, Jeff Kaarto (Kim) of Brussels, WI, Debbie Kaarto (Bruce Metallo) of Kenosha, WI, Brian Kaarto of Superior, WI and Mark Kaarto (Maijaliisa) of Superior, WI; his stepson Jason Nummi (Albert) of San Diego, CA.; his grandson Hunter Kaarto (Kaitlyn) of Alberta, Canada; his great grandchild Kylo; and his brother Dick Kaarto (Lynn) of Cushing, MN. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Gordon Town Hall (9709 Co Rd Y, Gordon, WI 54838).
