He is survived by: his children, Katherine Koehl (Marcus), Jill Miller (Joseph Ruff II) of Dubuque, IA and Benjamin Miller (Angelica); his grandchildren, Macy Gilson, Hatty Koehl, Jordy Koehl, Layla Cagney, Joseph Ruff III, Benjamin Miller Jr., Chase Miller and Lucy Miller; his former wife Paula Vanden Heuvel; and his siblings, Tom (Cathie), Mike, Brad Miller, Darlene Laus, Lou Ann Ochiltree (Bob), Sandy Farmer (Bill), Lynn Simons and Pam Keck (Dan). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
