She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Nelson and Elvina Nelson (Saastad); her husband Steve; her daughter-in-law Pat Nitka; her grandson Nathan Nitka; and her brothers, Elton, Maynard, Lyle and Leroy Nelson.
She is survived by: her children, Janice Nitka of Bellevue, James Nitka of Howard, Jeffry (Nancy Nitka) and Joel (Theresa Nitka); her grandchildren, Michael (Stephanie), David (Stacey), Jonathan (Molly), Jason (Katie), Cody and Charlie Nitka; her sister Susie Jankowski; and her sister-in-law Florence Nelson. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
