He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Schmidt and Gloria Schmidt (Vetter); and his sister Nancy Schmidt. He is survived by: his children, Kristy Smits (David) and Bradly Schmidt (Brenda); his grandchildren, Archer Wylie, Hudson Wylie, Emily Smits, Abby Smits, Cloey Smits, Sawyer Smits, Henry Schmidt, Arnold Schmidt, Ruthie Schmidt and Annabelle Schmidt; his brother Randall Schmidt (Deborah); his nieces, Sara Hickethier (Todd), Laura Schmidt (Tony Lattis) and Elizabeth Bank (Richard); his great-niece Sabrina; his great-nephew Noah; and his nibling Francis Melody. He is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends.
