He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Alfred Hertler and Cevera Hertler; and his nephew Danny Genslak. He is survived by: his wife Jean Hertler; his children, Perry Hertler (Melissa), Chad Hertler (Melody), Seth Hertler, James Hedden and Theresa "Tess" Brotzman; his sister Nancy Genslak; his niece Sara Sokol (Andy); his grandchildren, Wyatt (Naomi), Riley (Lydia), Quinn, Abraham, Caleb, Elijah, Joshua David, Spencer, Ethan, Moses, Silas, Titus, Noah, Sorin and Amara Jean; and his great-niece Hudsyn. He is also survived by many siblings-in-law and nieces and nephews.
