He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Dalen and Marie Van Dalen (Van Vonderen); and his parents-in-law, Irene and William Kropp. He is survived by: his wife Rosemary Kropp; his children, Jeff Van Dalen (Lori), Michael Van Dalen (Molly) and Laurie Van Dalen; his grandchildren, Hannah and Karch Van Dalen; his siblings, Marie Ann Vorpagel and John Van Dalen; and his brother-in-law Don Kropp. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Dennis' name.
