He was predeceased by: his parents, Norbert Hietpas and Josephine Hietpas (VandenHeuvel); his daughter Cheryl Lindsley (Michael); his parents-in-law, Carl and Lena Van Ess; his brother Leo Hietpas (Karen); and his siblings-in-law, Lois Hietpas (Carl), Anthony Van Ess (Sandy) and Jerome Van Ess (Jeanne).
He is survived by: his wife Marjorie Van Ess; his children, Annette Noles (Steve), Lynn Smith (Steve), Nancie Brennan (Kevin), Jay Hietpas (Jodi) and Chad Hietpas (Kristin); his grandchildren, Parker Noles (Danielle), Mary Beth Logan (Willard), Katie, Michael, Megan Smith, Benjamin, Zachary Lindsley, Thomas Brennan (Vanessa), Ellise, Owen Brennan, Holly, Brady Hietpas, Bella and Charlotte Hietpas; and his great grandchild Avery Noles.
