He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Owen and Betty Owen (Obry); his brother Gary Owen; his son-in-law Ernie Myhers; and his mother-in-law Marilyn Berzill.
He is survived by: his wife Rosie; his son Mason Van Essen Owen; his grandchildren, Missy Myhers, Alex, Cory and Ryann Myhers; his siblings, Charlotte Aide (Doug), David Owen (Joanne), Wayne Owen, Roger Owen, Debbie Owen (Bill Jackson), Timothy Owen and Cory Owen (Kris); his siblings-in-law, Julie Foust and Mark Berzill; and his godchildren, Courtney Owen and Christopher Aide. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
