He was predeceased by: his wife Betty (Mettler); his parents, Arley Quist and Violet Quist; his siblings, Arlene and Ronald; and his parents-in-law, Claude, Winifred Mettler, Sue and Neal Gauthier.

He is survived by: his children, Kelly Palmer (Joe), Kim Quist, Michael Quist (Tami) and Tracie Moldenhauer (Tim); his grandson Jason Quist (Megan); his children, Kayla Palmer, Katie Palmer, Krista Palmer, Tyler Quist (Rachael), Justin Quist (Rachel Trbovic), Matthew Moldenhauer (Bree) and Nathan Moldenhauer; and his close friend Carol Umentum. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
