He was predeceased by: his parents, Karl Emmel and Christine Emmel; his wife Mary Jean Emmel; his son Eric James Emmel; his siblings, John Emmel, Robert Emmel, Karl "Gus" Emmel, Marie Emmel and Esther Erdmann; his niece Martha Erdmann; and his siblings-in-law, Mavis Emmel, Jack Erdmann and Ludwig Betchart.
He is survived by: his son Matthew William Emmel; his granddaughters, Carly Emmel and Allison Emmel; and his sisters, Waldtraut Betchart (Wally) and Christine Emmel. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at 348 S Washington St, Green Bay, WI 54301.
