He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Donald Melotte and Catherine Melotte of Green Bay, WI; his siblings, Anthony and Patricia (Dennis); his daughters, Jennifer and Lisa; his grandchildren, Marie (Alex), Courtney, Brittany (Joel), Karynn and Kimberly; and his great grandchildren, Alaiya, Samaya, Jayvon, Zayne, Sandra Jeanne and Benjamin.
In 2023, the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors formally recognized Jim for his contributions to the LGBTQ+ community—a testament to his tireless work, bold spirit, and unwavering belief in inclusion.
