He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy and Irene (Cashman); his siblings, Earl Stone (Carol), Jim Stone and Carole Roulette (Jim); his father-in-law Cletus Schauer; and his nephew Bradley Schauer.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Ann Schauer; his children, Amy Butzen (Stu) and Jeff Stone (Sarah); his grandchildren, Amanda Butzen (Collin Abel), Adam Butzen, Tyler Stone and Parker Stone; his sister MaryJo Szczepanski (Dave); his mother-in-law Marion Schauer; and his siblings-in-law, Nancy Stone, Sandy Schauer, Marie Douglas (Brian), Ken Schauer (Judith), Tom Schauer (Rose), Larry Schauer (Louisa) and Peter Schauer (Lynn Stein). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He stopped donating only by his physician's recommendation. He was disappointed that he could no longer donate but was so proud when his oldest grandson, Adam, picked up where Grandpa left off by becoming a blood donor with the same blood type.
