She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Nielson and Christine Nielson (Reets); her husband Donald D. Palmer, Jr.; and her son Donald Palmer III. She is survived by: her children, William "Bill" Palmer (Jean) and Pamela Palmer (Bill Corson). She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

She was also involved with the American Heart Association, The Red Cross, the American Diabetes Association, Neville Public Museum, Brown County Wildlife Sanctuary, and the Green Bay Botanical Gardens.
