He was predeceased by: his parents, Gustave Ernst and Elizabeth Ernst (Betty). He is survived by: his wife Deborah Stumpf (Stumpf); his sons, Hans, Will and Ian; his siblings, Gus Jr. Ernst (Susan), Paul Ernst, Marcia Behrendt (John), Laurel Arendt (David), John Ernst (Ann) and Carl Ernst (Kim); his father-in-law Roy J Stumpf; his sister-in-law Linda Ernst; and his pet Nellie.
