He was predeceased by: his parents, George Winnes and Grace Winnes; and his brother George. He is survived by: his pets, Champagne, Missy, Libby Hope, Sadie and Rosie.

Their love for animals led to the creation of a trust to donate to the Wisconsin Humane Society-Green Bay Campus.
