He was predeceased by: his parents, James Kugel and Geraldine Kugel. He is survived by: his wife Eva; his daughters, Jennifer Schmidt (BJ), Marie Deeg (Chris), Melissa Kugel, Jessica Menne and Kristina Menne; his grandchildren, Brodie, Alivia, Kaitlynn, Austin, Madison, Carter and Annabelle; his siblings, Kathryn Koehler, Kristine Thomas (Brad), Michelle Mahoney (Brian) and Michael Kugel; his in-laws, William Menne, Laurie Menne and Barb Menne (Kevin); and his mother-in-law Joyce Alsteen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
