He was predeceased by : his father Alwin Nickel; his parents-in-law, Ernst and Inez Mueller; and his sisters, Lois Nickel, Dorothy Nickel and Ruth Timm.

He is survived by : his wife Bette Mueller; his children, Ellen Nickel, Jay Nickel (Sara), Karen Nickel and Mark Nickel (Robin); his grandchildren, Alexandra Lang (Derrick), Kyle Nickel, Linus Nickel, Caitlin Kane and Dani Romano (Stephen); his siblings, Richard Nickel Sr. (Eleanor) and Helen Nickel; his siblings-in-law, Herbert Timm, Robert Mueller and Beverly Mueller; and his nephew David Timm. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives.

At the request of the family, instead of flowers or plants, a memorial fund will be established in Bob's name.
