He was predeceased by : his wife Donna Van Asten; his parents, Cliff Brittnacher and Teresa Brittnacher; his parents-in-law, Cyrus and Jeannie Van Asten; his brothers, David and Tom Brittnacher; and his siblings-in-law, Vickie Fredrick, Greg Hopfenspereger, Steve Hartjes and Keith Van Asten.

He is survived by : his children, Jim Brittnacher (Pam), Jesse Brittnacher, Joe Brittnacher (Amanda), Melissa Kiley (Ben), Michelle Brittnacher and John Brittnacher; his grandchildren, Camden, Ayla, Declan, Maiya, Malachi and Jake; his siblings, Steve Brittnacher (Diane), Gloria Brittnacher, Joy Brittnacher, Jane Feldkamp (Joe) and Bill Brittnacher (Kris); and his siblings-in-law, Barb Van Asten, Bonnie Hopfensperger, Lee Van Asten, Debbie Hartjes and Al Van Asten (Peg).
