She was predeceased by: her son Ricky Wayne; her husband Wayne G. Birkett; her granddaughter Sara Jessica Abel; her siblings, Ila Mae Strathmann, Clarence and Dennis Zarnke; and her siblings-in-law, Jerry Bollert, Willis Birkett (Milly), Donald Birkett (Nancy), Wilma Knapton and Esther Birkett.
She is survived by: her daughter Darla Abel (Scott) of Greenwood; her grandchildren, Brian Abel (Tara), Steven Abel, Eric Abel, Paul Abel, Brittan Buettner (Joe) and Elyse Birkett; her great grandchildren, Kai Abel, Kase Abel, Roman Buettner, Noelle Buettner and Naomi Buettner; her brother William "Billy" Zarnke, Jr. (Peggy) of Montevideo, MN; and her sister-in-law Blanche Bollert of Kirkland, WA. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
