He was predeceased by : his parents, Mary K Thorn and Benjamin M. Thorn; his parents-in-law, Henrietta and Fred Best; his siblings, Frank, Robert, Betty and Virginia; his siblings-in-law, Inez Thorn and Vern Zingzeim; and his granddaughter Jennifer Becker.

He is survived by : his spouse Marion H. Best; his children, Bonnie Ritter (Kurt), Terri Strong (Michael), Cindy Page (Greg), Ben Thorn (Christine) and Steven Thorn (Traci); his grandchildren, Craig, Jason, Meghan, Jessica, Amanda, Lindsay, Andrew, Alex, Ashley, Aaron, Aysiah, Kelsey and Tyler; and his sister-in-law Nancy Brown. He is also survived by great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
