He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Hetzel and Lorraine Hetzel; and his brother Michael Hetzel. He is survived by: his siblings, Mark Hetzel (Chris), Mary Jo Kerke (John), Ann Roy (Tom) and Paul Hetzel (Doris); his nieces and nephews, Becky Pilarzyk, Jennifer Ziegler, Kevin Hetzel, Kate Hodges, Rob Hetzel, Adam Kerke, Katie Rousonelos, Logan Roy, Emma, Ryan Dodge, Isabel Roy and Claire Hetzel; his great-nieces, Lucille and Millie Dodge; Mary Kay Davies-Hetzel.
The lying in state was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Kilian's Gathering Space. A Mass was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials can be made to the Bob Hetzel General Scholarship Fund at UW-La Crosse.
