She was predeceased by: her parents, Austin Sonnenberg and Florence Sonnenberg; her husband Robert Schaefer; her son John Schaefer; her grandson David Lechner; her sisters, Shirley Wolf and Juanita Sonnenberg; her niece Kay Zuern; and her stepfather Arthur Roecker.

She is survived by: her children, Mark Schaefer (Dora), Kathleen Lechner (Joe) and Patsy Schaefer; her grandchildren, Sam Mountjoy (Sara), Carley Bogdan (Dan), Greg Schaefer (Kory), Amanda Jahn (Rick), Blake Lechner (Denise) and Dylan Roethle (Kristin); her great grandchildren, Morgan Cain (Skylar), Hudson Mountjoy, Lincoln Mountjoy, Brynn Bogdan, Laila Roethle, Conor Roethle, Lennon Lechner, Charliee Schaefer, Isla Schaefer and Jack Jahn; her brother Robert Roecker (Cindy); and her sister-in-law Sharon Schaefer.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Donna's honor may be made to Majestic Heights or the Humane Society of Washington County.
