He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Franzen and Dolores Franzen; his brother Dennis; and his sister-in-law Dawn. He is survived by: his wife Pat; his grandchildren, Matthew, Alexander, Christopher, Ava and Nicklaus; and his brother Arthur Franzen (Agnes). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Memorials in John's name may be made to the American Heart Association or St. Charles Catholic Church.
