He was predeceased by: his parents, George Scharlau and Idella Scharlau. He is survived by: his wife Mary Jo; and his children, Gary Scharlau (Teresa), Scott Scharlau (Heather), Marjorie Blaschko and Linda Hanson (John). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 6 great grand-children.
