He was predeceased by: his parents, Levi Peterson and Magda Peterson (Olson); and his siblings, John and Marianne Eder. He is survived by: his wife Paulette Rutka; his children, Michael Peterson of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, David Peterson of Cloudcroft, Gary Peterson (Kaye) of Cloudcroft and Maggie Peterson (Cassian Coroiescu) of Conroe, TX.; and his grandchildren, Eric Peterson (Grace), Karl Peterson (Bree), Elizabeth Brownlee (Carver), Rebecca Thompson (Josh), Jacob Peterson (Emmeline), Trier Peterson, James Wicklund (Becca), Tyler Peterson (Renee), Jeremy Peterson (Hannah Russert), Courtney Hall (Shawn), Destinie Mack, Marisa Crume and Abigail Coroiescu.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations to Trinity Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 218, or Camp Shield, at http://www.campshield.org, a nonprofit organization founded by Lee's daughter, Maggie, that serves women veterans and their children by providing connection, healing, and support after military service.
