Richard Gillis Obituary
With solemn reverence, we commemorate Richard Gillis (Hayward, Wisconsin), whose life came to an end on July 24, 2025 at the age of 95, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Gillis and Martha Gillis; his wife Shirley Larsen; his daughter Jeanne Ann Johnson; his sons-in-law, Mark Johnson and Jerry Preradovic; and his siblings, Daniel Gillis (Don), Marjorie Sieh, Marcella Thron, Florence Stelski, Lois Mueller and Mary Lou Snellings.
He is survived by: his children, Lynn Syverson (John) of Hayward, Jo Ellen Preradovic of Corcoran, MN, Jeffery Gillis (Ann) of Madison, WI, Brian Gillis of Hayward, WI and Patrick Gillis of Holmen, WI. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 6th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Thursday, August 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Lutheran Church (10680 Main St, Hayward, WI 54843).
