He was predeceased by: his parents, William Haling and Estella Haling (Harris); his former wife Lillian Haling (Leary); his wife Elizabeth Haling (Barnes); Audrey Leary.

He is survived by: his stepchildren, John Leary, Richard Barnes (Claire), Steven Barnes (Ann Berlage) and Cynthia Huey (Dennis); and his grandchildren, Jackie Leary, Colleen Kohlman (Leary), Brian Barnes, Megan Barnes, Natalie Barnes, Jennifer Rosenberg (Huey) and Brian Huey. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Spider Lake Church, Hayward Lions Club, Hayward VFW and Hayward Golf Club.
