He was predeceased by: his parents, Delbert Hillary and Loretta Hillary (Huske); his son Chuck; his brothers, Bert (Hazel), Ed, Dick, Pat, Wayne (Leona "Smokey") and James; and his granddaughters, Kristen Summers and Devon Slaats.
He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Rutan-Slaats; his children, David (Sandy), Joe (Linda), Marlene, Randy (Heidi), Shelley Gleason (Jim), Kelly Summers (Tim), Dell (Berkley), Tracy Brockman (Kevin) and Douglas Slaats (Yvonne); his daughter-in-law Cindy; and his sisters-in-law, Irene Hillary and Betty Hillary. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of plants & flowers, a Paul J. Hillary Memorial Fund has been established.
