He was predeceased by: his wife JoAnn Klund of Flater's Resort; his parents, Harry Flater and Mary Flater (Brainerd); and his siblings, Ray, Earl Flater and Ardythe Buchholz.
He is survived by: his children, Jim Flater (Paula) of Holcombe, WI, Joe Flater (Angie) of Holcombe, WI, Jane Joy (Dan) of Pound, WI and Steve Folgate of Byron, MN; his sister Hilda Trudeau of Luck, WI; and his siblings-in-law, Monte Klund (Char) of Holcombe, WI and Deb Klund of Bruce, WI. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.
