It is with sadness that the passing of Richard Wardwell of Holmen, Wisconsin is shared. Richard, born on February 5, 1936 in La Crosse, Wisconsin, passed away on May 30, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Richard will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor Richard by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though Richard is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Richard’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was predeceased by: his wife Sandra Schild of West Salem, Wisconsin.; his parents, Maurice Wardwell and Violet Wardwell (Prise); and his sister Patricia Jenks. He is survived by: his children, Michael Wardwell (Joani) and Lisa Hesch (Mike). He is also survived by four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be directed to the Holmen Area Community Center, where Dick deeply enjoyed finding a welcoming community of friends in recent years. Donations can be made securely online at the Holmen Area Community Center.
