It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gerald A. Hartwig of Horicon, Wisconsin, who passed away on June 12, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Gerald had on those he encountered along his journey. Though Gerald may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Hartwig and Victoria Hartwig; and his wife Gail M. Johns of Stephen's Lutheran Church. He is survived by: his daughter Nicole Freeman (Nathan Stephens); his grandchildren, Cody Freeman and Amber Freeman (Jacob Kirchner); his great grandchildren, Sella Kirchner and Braxton Wollum; and his siblings, Luise Rosenthal (Jerry), Sandra Feucht (Ken) and Oscar Hartwig (Gale). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters -in- law, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church-Horicon (505 N Palmatory St, Horicon, WI 53032). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
