He was predeceased by : his parents, Donald Halverson and Crystal Halverson (Hartig); and his parents-in-law, Leslie and Romelda Wunsch (Zimmermann). He is survived by : his wife Jeannine Halverson; his children, Richard "Dee" Jr. Halverson (Jennifer), Lisa Verhulst (Vaughn), Shannon Mayfield (Kirk) and Jason Halverson; his stepchildren, Joshua Steinhardt (Shawna Terry) and Jenny Bartz (Tim); his grandchildren, Tanya, Brittany, Alexis, Ashley, Evan, Caden, Jocelyn Rae, Jack and Emmy; his great grandchild Conner; his siblings, Donna King (Frank), Mary Kuzinski (Ski), Janice Gorter (Jimmy), Arthur "Butch" Stolzman (Diane), Bill Stolzman (Nancy) and Larry Halverson; his brother-in-law Duane Wunsch (Ann); and his former life partners, Shirley Oehldrich and Sue Greger. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Dick's name.
